Yes! Foot care is within the scope of a nurse practitioner. Any treatments that are outside the scope of the nurse practitioner or outside the ability to treat in your facility will be referred to a specialist.
MDB does not do diabetic shoe fittings, but we will be happy to refer all appropriate patients for that service.
The foot care assistant saves your staff time and energy on rounding days by transporting and positioning patients for foot care services, which also allows our nurse practitioners to focus on patient care.
There will never be a charge or cost to your facility. We bill patients’ insurance directly.
No, none of our foot care services will ever result in the facility being charged, directly or indirectly.
The foot care nurse practitioner will be in your facility at least once per month, depending on the caseload at your facility.
Our clinicians will leave written recommendations with your clinical staff before they leave your facility. Our policy is to deliver the notes to you within 24-48 hours via HIPAA-compliant means.
Because this is a specialty healthcare service, CMS requires a referral be made before we can see a patient.
Our referral department will process all referrals and confirm with you that we have received your referrals. Our referral department will then notify the clinicians assigned to you and your facility of the new patient(s) referred, and the clinician(s) will see them on their next scheduled visit to the facility. If it is communicated that a patient needs to be seen before the next scheduled visit, we will work to schedule them in as soon as possible.
The frequency of our foot care services (routine maintenance) and the broad range of patients we accept (access to care) truly helps your residents put their best foot forward.
